ME

I live in Edinburgh, Scotland but originally I’m from Nottingham, England. I found myself in Edinburgh in December 2019 and ever since I’ve been building a life and community here ever since. Edinburgh features frequently in my writing and photography. It’s an incredibly beautiful, vibrant, creative city that I’m so grateful to call home.

I love beans on toast, trash TV, dangly earrings, speculative fiction, buffy the vampire slayer, red wine, movies, fiction in translation, sunrises and sunsets, and all kinds of weather phenomenon, and spending time with friends and family.

WRITING

Writing has always been a passion of mine, whether short stories, novellas, poetry, blogs, press releases, opinion pieces or journal entries. My ambition now is to get a novel published. I’m currently completing the 2nd draft of a speculative fiction novel based in Britain and on the current political climate. I aim to complete that draft by the end of 2026 and seek beta readers in early 2027. I have also finished the 1st draft of a magical realist novel. That is resting. I have paused working on the 1st draft of a dark, gothic horror novel which I will pick up when I have finished my speculative fiction draft.

I also write a newsletter. It has three main sections:

• Talking:PICTURES - this is where I share my photography along with some reflections

• The (aspiring) Author’s Life - here I reflect on my writing journey and pursuit to publication and an agent

• Culture:Consumption:Creation:CURATED - This is where I share a curated monthly digest of things I’ve read, watched, loved, coveted or otherwise.

  I also foundedWomen Who Writewhich runs events across Edinburgh, Glasgow and online. We provide time, space and community for women and nonbinary writers. It’s so challenging to find regular time to write without distractions, I myself struggled hence starting the group! I love this community and everything that we have achieved since we started in February 2024. Collectively, over our retreats and challenges, we’ve written millions of words, and I expect that we will continue to write millions more!
